Is it possible to access and process SOAP msg attachment in XI?

Hi everybody,

I have already asked this question, but nobody answered 😊

Does anybody have experience with processing SOAP attachments in XI? for example mapping of "text/xml" attachment type?

Thanx, Peter

    Peter,

I had earlier asked you for the source xml and the expected output xml as well, so that i can help you with the mapping.

    cheers

    Hi

As the question was brought up, then maybe You could give the answer... when web services use soap-attachment's then are there any restrictions to the functionality regards attachments?

We (the company I'm working for) have planned to use web services and XI for data exchange with external parties but I would need to know if we can use soap-attachments (as the amount of data is quite big). Technically, should soap-message attachments be of some specific type (xml/html/cvs/...) that XI only is able to handle (ie I think XI will have problems with CSV files?)?

Is there maybe a howto or reference manual that would explain the possible functionality regards soap messages and theri attachments?

    Thanks for answers

      Hi

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately as SDN was down (at least for me) I could not post my question.

With SOAP Attachments (I'm talking about inbound interfaces/web services) it confuses me that XI supports SOAP with Attachments as specification but I would need to process the attachments... read the data from the attachement, do some value mapping and send it to SAP ERP or CRM. But I cannot see anywhere any documentation how to read or map the content of the attachment.

A bad workaround (i hope) could be writing a custom JAVA function that would open the attachments and then use this function in maping to open attachemants.

In these terms are SOAP attachments processable?

      Thank you!
