Hi Chandra,
As far as I know you can't extend products via AET, you do it via set-types
Cheers!

In your case if you really want to enhance products via the AET(which I did see it listed in my EHP1 system), you should instead go to the AET directly (Enhace Applications link in your CRM menu) and then you can select the product object for enhancement. I never tried to enhance products via the AET, but it appears you can if you go through this route instead of going to a component directly.
There is also the traditional way of enhancing products via new attribute sets which is documented elsewhere.
Take care,
Stephen

Hi Stepehn,
I never did it either, is there any SAP document about the approach of enhancing products? I mean, " if you want to enhance the prodcut in this way blablabla use AET otherwise use set-types" also will be interesting to now if AET technically does a new set-type, but thinking as I writing this will be attached to the product category....so..nah... I don't think so
Cheers!

I need to look at what the AET generates in another sandbox, but based on the part it looks like the AET is going to insert the fields directly into COMM_PRODUCT instead of creating a new settype. The only benefit of creating a new set type is that if you want to control what type of product gets your new attributes you could do this via category assignment.
Never really found anything about using AET for products, thus I wrote the old-school enhancement method in the book.
Take care,
Stephen
I agree on the part of theres "no advantage" on usinte AET isntead of set-type, set-type is an older, and some times painfull, but more felxible model solution.
I don't see any customer include in COMM_PRODUCT so looks line the AET will do brand new append, will be cool so see if "all what needs to be enhanced" will be enhanced,
so it's great if you have time to do the test in your sandbox
Cheers!

You can only create fields with AET for the Objects which are registered as to be enhanced with AET.
go to TC 'AXTREG' and check whether the Object is registered there or not.
If not then the Create new field will not be available.
Thanks
Kumar.
