Dashboard Query execution limitation

Former Member

Dear All,

When we  execute 7 to 8 dashboard at a time , ( each dashboard has average 8 queries ), then each dashboard take too much time.

Data fedretor admin tool, shows only three queries running at time while all other queries status  "waiting for execution".

some time queries run with system account user for long time continuously this also decrease dashboard performance

My BO system detail is given below

OS Windows 2008

RAM 64 GB

6 core IBM x3550

BO 4.0 SP6

please guide how we can increase dashboard performance and all queries run at a time with any delay.

Regards

Imran Khan

Hi Imran,

1. Log into Central Management Console.

2. Navigate to Servers section and Select Manage -> New Server

3. Under Service Category (Web Intelligence Service) ->Select Service -> Web Intelligence Processing Service and create the server.

same way add or clone dashboard processing server as well.

Thanks,

Sapanesh

Thanks Arijit,

we have set this parameter

MAX_CONCURRENT_MEMORY_CONSUMING_QUERIES =10

Now 10 queries are running at time in data federator admin tool, But still its performance is not good.

Is there any parameter which increase performance ?

For good performance, please make sure you have proper sizing of BOE installation. Pls check the sizing guide:https://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-33126

Also, it is very important to follow the dashboards best practices:http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Dashboards+%28Xcelsius%29+General+Best+Practices

There is a sizing guide available in sap site. I do not have the link with me right now. You can search for the same.
