Redetermine Batches in Outbound delivery

Former Member

Hi,

We have following situation

Material maintained in batches

Stock available is :  Batch XXXX  1000 qty

PO raised with Qty : 1100

Outbound delivery  :  1100

Line Item 1 ---  Qty 100    No Batch

Line Item 2 ---  Qty 1000  Batch XXXX

So as stock is less than 100, we can not do PGI.

After 2 days we receive material and now we have  Batch YYYY : 100 Qty

So now can we redetermine the new batch in existing outbound delivery so that we can PGI ?

Can it be done by config or we will have to enter this batch manually in Line Item 1,  everytime it happens.

Please guide.

Regards

There are many things unclear:

Is this about a stock transfer?

I am just asking because you said:

PO raised with Qty : 1100

Outbound delivery  :  1100

How can it be that you have 2 items in the outbound delivery?

Line Item 1 ---  Qty 100    No Batch

Line Item 2 ---  Qty 1000  Batch XXXX

Is it created manually?

are these 2 main items, or is it 1 main item and a batch split?

With batch split you have usually batch split items below the main item which start with a item number 900001

If the delivery exists already, then you have to carry out manually a new batch determination if you want the batches automatically determined (based on your customizing), or you need to enter it manually at all.

Hi Jurgen,

Yes It is STO.

Outbound delivery is created by VL10B and there is automatic batch determination.

so after delivery is created, delivery has two line items as stated earlier for the same material.

one with batch and another without batch.

The line without batch is the stock deficit we have.

we receive the stock with a different batch and now i want to know whether can we redetermine the line item 1 with the new batch received.

go into VL02N, select your item, click the button Batch split below the item overview, and in the batch split you click the button for new batch determination.

Hi Jurgen,

yeah it picks up the new batch. Thanks very much.

Can this be achieved automatically, as we can have many outbound deliveries like this.

should we ask to developer to check in this ?

Any suggestion on this

Hi Jurgen,

We are using SPED output type for creating auto inbound delivery.

As soon as the delivery is saved an Inbound delivery ID is created in the background.

and now outbound delivery has all the batches and can be PGIed but the inbound delivery has only one batch which was present in outbound delivery before redermination.

So we are not able to do PGR for inbound delivery. as it gives error message  "Delivery quantity of batch main item 000010 is not allocated completely"

The error is self explanatory but i cannot add the new batch in inbound delivery manually and even if i add by clicking "Create batch" i cant enter "item Cat" for the newly created line item.

Need help again.
