     If you are running BI 4.1 the option is shown by Noel.  You can choose the highest level of user Group and set BI LaunchPad preference.  You also still set initial preference using CMC for ALL new, it will NOT change setting for users that have already logged on.  

The only way to force GLOBAL settings is to use a custom Java code to push profile to ALL users.

This used to be a possibility in 3.1 by a custom program but in BI 4.0 its gone... So unfortunately nothing that can be done here from admin level apart from educating user how to do it themselves...

I don't think it is possible to specify this across the board.  Each user can do so for themselves in their preferences within the BI Launchpad as seen below.  However, I am guessing you already knew that.

Hi Zaki,

If you are on BO 4.0 then follow below steps:

1. CMC -> User Groups -> Actions > BI launch pad Preferences (But users can go to Launchpad preferences and reset this changes)

2. So you need to apply from "Users and Groups" but not within "Applications"

CMC -> Users and Groups -> YourUser/Group -> UserSecurity -> User/Group -> Assign Security -> Advanced

Uncheck boxes - Inherit from Parent Folder, Inherit from Parent Group

Advanced -> Add/Remove Rights -> General

Deny below

Change password for users that the user owns  

Change preferences  

Change preferences for objects that the user owns  

Change user password

Apply -> OK

Login to BI LaunchPad, Preferences button will not be visible.

There aren't significant changes from 4.0 to 4.1 with respect to these settings.

You can get to the BI launch pad Preferences as Hardik state, but you have to have selected a group for the Action menu item to be active.  You can also right-click on a group as shown below.

However, once you get to where you can adjust the settings you will see there is no way to set which version of Web Intelligence to use...

As far as I know that can only be done by each user in their own Preferences within BI Launchpad.
