changing hiring date with payroll run since 2012

Dear Experts,

we have a requirement to change some employee hiring date because of new regulation.

at first, hiring date was the date when employee passed their probation period (so we didn't create any record for probation period). but the new regulation want to count their service years start from probation period (for count service anniversaries).

we need to change the hiring date record. (most of the hiring date that want to be change was record of year of 2009 and we run payroll since year 2012)

is there any suggestion, which one is the best way to manage this problem?

1. Create new personnel number with reference pers.no for those employee

2. Change hiring date of existing personnel number with reverse and post payroll again

or is there any better suggestion to solve this?

thanks in advance

Hello,

The solution would be to create new date types for IT0041 for Hire Date & Probation Date. As far as my understanding, this date would be required only for calculation of Service Period and to use in Benefits or some Reporting Period. So, instead of creating new Pernr or change existing IT0000 record, it's always better to Update IT0041 with new date types.

Hi Anirban

I like the option you have suggested, but what if the client doesn't want to maintain any probation date for given employees? Its just query please.

Hello Upendra,

If they do not want to maintain Probation date, then we have to change BEGDA of IT0000 (hiring action).

1) we have to find out all the PERNR, Hiring date that need to be changed, Position Assigned on Hiring date, Position Creation Date in OM etc.

2) We have to use RHBEGDA0 to change the BEGDA of Position for which hiring date would be changed

3) Then use PA41 to change the Hiring Date and assign the same positions for which BEGDA was changed.

4) but I would always suggest not to disturb existing IT0000 record. But always create a new date type and maintain. Or create a custom Infotype store this date Or Enhance an existing infotype, Say IT0001 to store the Probation date and use that date to calculate service period.

in IT 0041 maintain two hire dates with diff date types...one should be original hire date and the other should be hire date ( service confirmation date i.e, end of probation )

Hi

You can achieve this through PA41

You doesn't need to change the PERNR, just change the record until unless the control the PY control record allows you.
