Infocube & DSO DB Partitioning: still needed with SAP BW on HANA?

Hi, experts!!!

Can anyone please explain if the feature "DB Partitioning", launched and increased (DSO also has this capability) in SAP BW 7.3, is still needed in SAP BW on HANA environment?

I can still see this option in SAP BW "Extras" and don't know what is it intended for in SAP BW on HANA.
