Passing a date from the Dashboard to BEX

Hello all;

I'm creating a dashboard (4.0 service pack 5) based off of a Bex query with no mandatory filters. The requirement states that the dashboard be automatically refreshed and reflect the current months data. I created a between date prompt in the Query Browser, but I'm not quite sure how I can automate this. Since I have no CURRENT MONTH variable for the date characteristic in my Bex query I was wondering if I could pass this value from the Excel file.

    You can map the Prompt to excel cell which contains formula as =Today() then your dashboard will be loaded for today's data.

    or Else you can map that to date variable with currentdate in Bex query Designer.
