sandbox errors

has anyone set-up a bw sandbox before ? I don't have a basis guy to help me out in establishing the connectivity for r/3 and the flat files here, so I am doing all by myself. when I try to create the source system ref in bw for r/3, it's creating a seperate idoc type and it throws a message that this idoc type doesn't exist and the activation is terminated. For the flat files from my pc, I am able to create the datasource but when I try to upload the data, it doesn't recognize the files either.

For the loading from flat file have a look at the following OSS note:

600246.

Regarding R/3: check fist the ocnnection. RSA1 (source systems). Then try first to load the settings form R/3. see if you get any error.

for the idoc got to transaction WE20 and check the idocs.

Check also the EDI Partner KEY is not locked.

Welcome to SDN!

When you create RFC connection with R/3, the R/3 system should be open for changes. See OSS Note #184586 "System change option and BW".
