current stock and multi provider

Hello, dear experts

I am looking for good advice.

We use cube RT_c01 for collecting info from material movements. This cube is used for getting current stock figures as well. Unfortunately this cube is growing to quickly - more then 1.000.000 records per year.

To improve performance we would like to create new cube to collect data for next financial year. The questions are:

- will be possible to have a multi cube be able to compare figures for both years

- should we do stock initialization for new cube

- how about compresions

- any other sugestion

~85% reports are running for current year and only rest 15% collecting data from old cube (select, compare, etc)

Many thanks in advance

    Hi,

will be possible to have a multi cube be able to compare figures for both years

Yes it easily possible by restriction key figures , having restriction with constant 0CALYEAR

    - should we do stock initialization for new cube-

I hope, you have to do stock initialization ,but no need to do loading of history material moments.Because you already have the moments of the previous year in the old cube.

    how about compresions

As the same procedure you are following in the current cube.

    Hi Valters,

In general, what you asked is possible.

However, you'd better make a search of this forum about the following issue: multiprovider and non-cumulatives.

    As an example:

    non-cumulative-kfs-in-multiprovider

    Best regards,
