    Hi Sujesh,

Let's separate your question into two sections:

    1) Building the application archive.

    2) Deploying the application.

    1) In order to build the archive, go to the Web Dynpro Perspective -> Web Dynpro Explorer. Right-click on your project and select "Rebuild Project" and then "Create Archive". This will build the EAR file in the project root directory.

    2) Deploying the EAR. There are two ways you can do this - either with the SDM, or with the Visual Administrator.

SDM - start the SDM Remote GUI application. It can be found at:

    C:usrsap<your_instance_name>JC00SDMprogramRemoteGui.bat

You need to specify the machine where your WebAS is installed and supply the SDM password. After you log in, select the "Deployment" tab, click the button with the "+" icon, select your EAR and click through the steps.

Using the Visual Administrator. Start the Visual Administrator with:

    C:usrsap<your_instance_name>JC00j2eeadmingo.bat

You will need to log in with the administrator password.

Now click <your_server> -> Services -> Deploy, and then click the button on the right "Deploy" (or "Deploy & Start"), select your EAR and proceed accordingly.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

there is a separate SDM tool delivered together with WAS. You can use that one.

    • Hi Sujesh,

the SDM (Software Deployment Manager) is to be found under \usr\sap\<ID>\JC00\SDM. Under \program you'll find different batch files from which you can start the application.

The EAR is built from within NWDS. Just switch to the Resource Perspective, after you have chosen "Create Archive" from the WD Perspective / WD Explorer. There you'll find the built EAR which you can deploy.

      Hope it helps
