Ecc6 data can be restored in EHP4

Hi Expertise,

I have small inquire that ECC6 data base can be restored in EHP4 edition. How can i start it & what is the proper procedure in this regards.Please can it be mentioned step wise.

Hi Abhijit,

You can restore ECC6 data into EHP4. But we aware that all your existing EHP4 data will be overwritten. Basically your EHP4 system will become ECC 6.0.

Note: Both the source and target should  have same SAP kernel and DB version.

If this is ok, you can follow db2 redirect restore procedure.

Take backup of source and restore the same on target.

Perform roll forward and start the database on target.

Thanks for Giving replay but if i want to migrate ECC6 into EHP4 with database, so it can be possible & how far can i do it. Please mention me steps for all process in this regards.

Hi Abhijit,

You cannot migration date from ECC 6.0 to EHP4. The SAP system needs on ECC 6.0 needs to be upgraded to EHP4. Refer www.service.sap.com/instguides and download the upgrade guide for EHP4.

Follow the steps mentioned in the upgrade guide.
