Dear Gurus,

I have a Client requirement like as follows:

1. They will not update that value in the OB08 when they are doing Month End Foreign Currency Reavluation. They will do this by using excel.

2. They are doing this because they have a Custom Rate Maintained in that T-code: OB08.Which They don't want to disturb.

Know my client want how to maintain these two different rates in OBO8.

Any help on this is really appreciated...

Thanks in Advance,

Rohit...

Hi rohit,

You can define a new exchange rate type for this purpose and assign this exchange rate type to valuation method.

make necessary config adn test.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Rohit,

You can use define a different exchnage rate type in SPRO>SAP Netweaver>General Settings>Currencies>Check Exchnage Rate types.

And, then assign this exchnage rate type in Valuation Method definition in Financial Accounting New>General Ledger Accounting New>Periodic Processing>Valuate>Define Valuation Methods.

Here you can use a different exchange rate type than M and this will not disturb your customs rate maintenance in OB08..

Test it out and let us know if that helps.. Usually there is a requirement to vluate the Vendors and customers differently at buying and selling rate and this comes in handy in those situations..

Hi Rohit,

first create new exchange rate type , assign this exchange rate type to valuation method as defined by kavita.

Maitain exchange ratios against the ew exchange rate type and process the exchange rate valuation transaction.

Hi,

if you want to maintain different currency exchange rates manually but based on worklists (which allow you to have better authorization checks than OB08), check T-code TCURMNT, the functionality is described in SAPNET note 783877.

If you want to upload FX rates based on a MS Excel spreadsheet use T-code TBEX.

Hi,

You can use different rate types (e.g. similar to m, g etc) (tcode ob07)

Maintain separate exchange rates in ob08 for each type

For customs document type, default the customs rate (tcode oba7, select customs document type and default it in the screen below)

for foreign currency, exchange rate will be considered from valuation area (tcode ob59)

In this manner you can control both exchange rates through system

Thank You

Hi Nishu,

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

what document type should be the For customs documents. I have checked in the oba7 i didn't find any Document type of that description.

2. For customs related import they will change the rates quite often as per the requirements of the Customs officials.

So would there be any inconsistency in the system if we keep changing the rates.

Hi Rohit,

Please check any of the customs document posted click on header data (cap symbol) on any date posted. You will get document as required

2. Even if the rate is changed it is not an issue, however if postings are done rate in ob08 and document won't tie. It will not create any inconsistency but it will be an example of garbage in garbage out

Thank You

Nishu
