getting started with pdk for ep6 sp2

Hi friends,

I am working on EP6 SP2 and want to develope portal content. I downloaded EP6 SP2 PDK and extracted. It has 1 com.sap.portal.pdk.PortalDevelopmentKit-2004-03-25.epa file. I dont know how to fo about it. Now there are 2 scenarios:

1> Install PDK and integrate with EP server so tht i wont have to deploy that portlet again on EP6.

2> Can i have my own portal where i can tepmorarily deploy par files and can create iview ...... and then if successful deploy that par file on actual production server. If this is possible, i can work at my home also and can write code and create iviews.

If there is any mistake in my question, please correct me. Are there any documents available on how to go about PDK developement.

Regards,

Nilz

K..U can just import this .epa into Portal from System Admin Tab.

Then usung User Admin tab assign a role called Java Developer to ur id. Then u shud see n able to access all the resources under PDK.

U can install a sneak preview version(slim version) and then have ur components tested on it before u move to ur production server.

    Regards,

    P.
