Change ID of Web Template Web Item In URL - BW 3.5

Hi,

We recently got BW 3.5 and I'm experimenting with the "web template" web item.

I want to use commands in the URL to change which web template id that the "web template" web item uses.

I tried <SAP_BW_URL item="TEMPLATE3" template_id="ZMYWEB">

where TEMPLATE3 is the name of the web item and ZMYWEB is the name of a web template. This didn't work. I think i'm missing some syntax. I can't find any documentation on this command.

Any ideas?

    Hi Fong,

    If you are trying to change the web template then the you need to use the following command.

    <SAP_BW_URL CMD='CHANGE_TEMPLATE' TEMPLATE_ID=Â’DETAILS'>

    If this is not your requirement, give me more inputs about your secnario.

    Thanks

    Saravanan.

    Hi,

    changing the Template is not possible during runtime. Instead you should include all needed templates as Web Items and set the hidden parameter. Then you can unhide und hide the respective web item. Examples can be found in template 0ADHOC.

    Saravanan,

    In BW 3.5, there is a web item called "web template"

    Heike,

    Thanks. I won't pursue trying to figure out the command url now that I know it's not possible.
