Hi Vaidyanath,

Will try to answer as per your question.

Is ABAP Mandatory for proceeding this SAP UI5 Concept.

No.

What are the pre requisite you should know for this course.

Javascript,XML,HTML5 and CSS3.It would be better if you have basic understanding of ODATA service.

How is the market as of now and career growth. for this UI5.

SAP Fiori demand is growing in the market as SAP Fiori is the new face of SAP UX and it will be the future.

Regards,

Rehan Sayed.

ABAP is mandatory for UI5 backend development to develope ODATA services that are consumed by the UI5 front end. Both ABAP consultants and Non-ABAP consultants can do UI5 front end which consists of HTML, jquery, Javascript and UI5 framework. But the backend is for purely ABAP consultants. So with front end, you are good to go.

functional consultant is 100000000000 times better than technical/ui5 consultant....

ui5 is just a new skin, nothing else, tomorrow they may have ui6.....

sap always want to use backend to drive the frontend.

if you use cds, you pretty much has nothing to write in frontend

don't waste your time.

Hello Jun Wu,

I cannot let you say that without any comments 😉 The Functional guy will be impacted in the new SAP technology. In fact the future will not be a functional one (at least not as it was before). With the emergence of Cloud solution, the plus value of a SAP functional consultant will decrease a lot for some reasons.

Take as an example SAP HCM, in the near future (more or less 5/10 year) the SPA Consultant should move on to a new direction like SAP Successfactor, same as SAP SRM and Ariba.

The backend will stay the backend, but the way we have taken currently it is more an ERP as a service and not as a transaction 😉

As a conclusion, the UI perspective is a good one for the futur years and CDS view will decrease the job, but not vanish it 😉

Of course it is my humble opinion 🙂

Hello vaidyanath sankaranarayanan,

As an experienced developer in UI & UX, I would strongly suggest you to go to SAPUI5 as it would help you to develop ERP based applications using various frameworks and libraries.

ABAP is not mandatory to learn UI5, but to better understand how the data that you get from the back end is stored in the database, at later stages you need only the basics of ABAp.

The pre requisites are HTML 5, CSS & CSS3 (Advanced), Javascript (advanced topics) and baisc knowledge on jQuery.

Now as SAP has introduced the latest HANA technology, so now, there is lot of demand and scope in SAPUI5 and FIORI.

Best of luck.
