Data migration best practice in C4C

Hi pros,

What is the best preactice for bulk data migration in C4C?

We need to migrate around 20 000 000 customer records into C4C which is impossible to do manually using the standart data migration tools.

Is there a way to automate this process?

Hello Nadezhda,

Automation is possible if you are using a connected ECC or CRM system - with job scheduling and may be some custom dev.

If you are talking about standalone C4C, then DM templates are what SAP provides for Mass loads. These loads cannot be automated as there is no standard functionality for automating data migration using templates in C4C.

You will have to do it in batches for all those records - If I'm not wrong, 100 MB is what the data size can be accommodated for data load using DM template. Still if you want, you may check wit some expert developer if there is a way for automation of data load in C4C using DM templates, although I doubt but nothing wrong in checking.

Hello Nadezhda,

The best would be to Divide the customer records into seveal files. I will suggest 10-20 files and split those records into those files.

and upload them using either of the approach.

After you can use 2 approaches:

1. Standard Migration Template. (SOAP Based)

2. Data workbench. (Odata based) - New approach

The only recommendation is to migrate the roles from the start instead of creating them by hand.
