Dear experts,
IDM 7.2 provided the predefined script names INITIALIZE and TERMINATE, which were called by the runtime automatically at the start and end of a job, respectively.
In IDM 8.0, I can verify that INITIALIZE still works. TERMINATE, however, seems no longer to be called.
Any comments or suggestions how to workaround that issue?
Kind regards, Lambert
PS: here's the 7.2 documentation about this behaviour directly from dse.chm:
A script named "INITIALIZE" is always run at the start of a job. A script named "TERMINATE" is always run at the end of a job. These scripts can be used to pre- or post-process data, produce a job report or similar tasks. You can also preload program objects - e.g. Microsoft Word - for later use, to avoid this overhead every time a script is called.
Hi DP,
thanks for offering help. The pass I've been using the TERMINATE script in was toGeneric in a provisioning job, i.e. a job where only this single pass exists.
I've meanwhile found out from @terovirta's very helpful post that I should have better used a "Close Destination" script instead of TERMINATE for my purposes. That's what I'm using now as a replacement, and it works fine. My problem is solved.
Sorry for replying late. I had my email notifications turned off.
Best regards,
Lambert
