FI related GL,AP,AR -is a cube or ODS

We are planning to load FI GL/ AP/AR datasource into bw.

Dataflow is going to be PSA-ODS-Infocube. Clsoing will be occur only month end.My question is ,

I need to schedule daily delta or monthly once is enough. I have a reporting requirement is daily.

How long I need to keep data in PSA and ODS.Because I am planning to take report from the infocube.

I can caputre delta's only in the ODS not in the cube.

Please advise which one is feasible to take report out of FI related GL,AP,AR-is a cube or ODs.

hi, think it's better schedule daily delta since FI GL/AP/AP usually have high volume data.

you can delete psa if you are sure no need to upload from psa again.

usually old data that won't change anymore can be deleted via selective deletion.

    Hi,

As the reporting requirement is daily I would say you should extract the delta daily probably overnight.

With regard to the PSA ODS I think it is a good thing to keep the Initial data loads in the PSA till the time the data has been validated by the users and have confirmed the correctness of the same. For delta you may keep data in the PSA for a week or so.

It is always advisible to take reports from the Infocube as it is build on the principles of Data warehousing. Only in case if the user wants to drill down to the detail record should you give him the option to navigate to the ODS data, maybe using and RRI. But the initial resport should always be on the Infocube.

If you are extracting GL, AR, AP line item data make sure you go through the coupled nature of their datasources, will be useful.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers
