Hi All,

Can we have one position(S) to two different Org unit(O)?If YES then how?If NO then Why?

Hi Namit,

A position can exist only in one org unit. According to SAP standard it is not feasible to attach the same position to more than one organizational unit in the same time interval.  If you try to achieve this, the previous record would be deleted.

It can report to multiple managers for different purposes or relationship types, which is known as matrix management.  A job can be used by multiple positions.

Thanks for the answer.Yes your answer is right but we are promoting the person not the position then how should it reflect?

Namit:

Taking into account the rules as previously communicated, you have 1 of two choices:

1) Create a second (new) position in the new org unit

2) Copy for A003 relationship to a new time period, and attach it to the new Org Unit...yes the wonders of date driven infotypes.

Check time constraint for infotype 1001, Object type 'S', Relation - 'A003' you wil get your answer.
