Packing in delivery


Is it possible to create the shipping units when post goods issue button is pressed.

Please help me

    I don't think so. Let us just, for a while, look at the corresponding business process.

    Customer <u>places an order</u> with you for a product. You then <u>find the product in your inventory</u>, <u>pack</u> it and <u>send</u> it out to your customer.

    Now let us look at the transactions involved supporting the underlined tasks. You create a sales order in your system, then create a delivery, pack the contents and then issue it to the customer and ship it. Once you do the PGI, it is out of your inventory, and packing is a function that happens before that.

    But that does not rule out a solution. Every PGI is a change to the delivery. So you may find some user exit to pack it and then do the PGI. I still don't see why you want to do that. It may be very difficult to control it at that point. I would rather have a process in place that does the creation of shipping units(handling units/packing) first, and then allow the PGI. You can probably have a requirement that packing should be complete, before you do PGI. But trying to do packing after the PGI button is pressed, seems to me as almost not possible.
