External access for Analysis for olap

Hi.

I have a report on analysis for olap build on Bex, i wanted to clarify that is it mandatory to check "Allow external access to query"(release for oledb for olap),

As in my case i have unchecked "Allow external access to query" but still I can view and do analysis on this analysis for olap report does that mean olap for analysis doesnt required external access check mark?

Any SAP note which clarify this?
