Hello Experts,
I have a problem with Exception repoting.
I want to compare Key figure(Cum-LC) value with Characteristic values (Max.Limit and Min.Limit).
The Keyfigure value - Cum.LC is in the cube and
the Max. and Min.Limit values are in the Masterdata Charecteric(Info-object : Limits).
If the value of Keyfigure is laying in between Min and max limit I want to display Keyfigure value as Green other wise red color.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks and regards
ganesh
Hi Pat
Thanks for your suggestions.
I have already tried creating variables with relacement path and used attribute values (min and max). But when I use these variables to compare the results it does not work in the execeptions. At the same time when I diplay the values of the variables , the values are diplayed in the report.
If you have solved this kind of problem, please give me more details.
Thanks and regards
ganesh

Hello Ganesh,
Can you confirm if the exception is active? (You can display the condition from the Excel Menu bar -> Business explorer -> Layout -> Display Exception)
If it is not active, check the setting on the "Cell restrictions" tab in the Exception Definition dialog - it should be set to "All (recommended for relative values)"
I have a working example similar to the one you mention (exception based on above or below a variable), so hopefully this will work for you.
Best regards,
Pat M.
Hello Ganesh,
I'm not sure how much of this you may have tried already, but hopefully this will help you.
1. Define variables for the Min and Max (I think you'll need to do this to get the characteristics to where you can use them for comparison
2. When defining the condition, select the variables entry check box below the "From" and "To", and enter your variables defined in Step 1
3. You'll need three conditions, one from min to max (green), one less than min (red) and one greater than max (red).
This will not work if the min / max aren't in the drill-down - there may be other limitations as well.
In the past, when wanting to achieve these type of results, I've resorted to using VBA macros which run each time the workbook is refreshed but this has limitations too.
Best regards,
Pat M.
