BI4.1 - Account information not recognized:Could not reach CMS

Former Member

Hello Experts,

Two days ago, I installed BI4.1 SP1 and configured Win AD authentication. It was working perfectly fine until yesterday.

But when I tried to log in today, I'm getting an error message:

"Account information not recognized: Could not reach CMS. Specify the correct host and port and check for network issues. (FWM 20030)"

I tried logging in using an AD account as well as Admin account with Enterprise. The SIA is running but when I try to connect to the server via SIA settings, client tools or the web apps, then I'm getting the above error message. I tried logging in from the Client Machine as well the SERVER using Servername:PortNumber, but still the same error.

I checked the log files but couldn't figure/understand what and where to look.

Please suggest how do I start debugging or fixing this issue?

We have BI4.1 SP1 on one Win 2008 R2 server.

Thanks in advance

Izak

Hii Izak ,

Check whether the port is not blocked by Network Firewalls and also check if all BO Ports ( 6400 ) are opened .

Seems like some issues with the CMS PORT. Please restart your SIA and check the event viewer for the error messages.

Hi,

did you checked that your CMS.exe is running? Because you configured WinAD SSO your SIA runs under a Domain Account. IS this Domain Account locked, password expired, deleted, etc.?

If it was working yesterday but not today i would suggest the password has been expired.

Hi Seb,

Thanks for the tip. The issue was with the Service Account. For some reason the Service Account was removed from the Administrator groups of the Server and I believe it was then not having enough rights to work with SIA. I added back the Service account to the admin group and its working now.

Thank you all for the replies.

Thanks,

Izak

Hi Izak,

I am facing the same Issue with our Development and Quality system. Production one is fine though. What do you mean by service account here? Is it the account you are using for login?

Thanks

Hi Anuj,

The service account is the one which is delegated for allowing AD logins.

It is the same account with which:

1) we run the SIA

2) create SPNs for

It is recommended that "the password never expires" is checked for this user on AD side.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The password (if expired) needs to be reset by an AD admin.

After which, the services in BO(the SIA) which are running using this account should be restarted with the new password.

Also specify the new password in CMC >> Windows AD >> AD Administrator
