Routing Group Counter Selection in Production Order

Hi Guru's,

I have 2 Routing Group Counters,one is Standard(5*********1) & other External(1********5),the system picks up External instead of Standard.

I have checked the Lot sizes & Validity dates, both are same. Also OPL8 & other settings, A Production version is also maintained.

Lot size - 0 to 999999999

Validity - 12/06/2012

Now why is this picking this way ? Any inputs please.

Hi Naidu,

If you are creating production order without production version then - Routing selection should be 3 in OPL8.

Since you have created production version - check the setting of production version in OPL8, that should be 1.

Apart from above setting make sure -

1. Selection method in MRP 4 view - 2

2. Validity date of BOM in production version

3. And routing selection and group counter in production version

I think Production version - 1 Manual selection of production version in OPL8 is enough if you have maintained production version properly.

Hi,

Since you mentioned production version maintained, for each group counter (internal/ext) you might have created seperate production versions. System always select first production version if multiple multiple production version have same lot size and validity period. First production version may be assigned with external group assignment.

Re-Naming the production version will solve this issue.

Hi,

If you have two production version containing these two routing then check in first production version which is assigned, or make production version selection manual in OPL8.

Also check if you are converting Planned order to production order after MRP, the first Production version will always considered in MRP run , Also check selection method in BOM/dependent parameters in MRP4 view.
