Hi All,
We are implementing Performance Management in ECC 6.0, Ehp5. Due to business requirements we are using Flexible Appraisal template. We have designed the custom appraisal template in webdynpro. Please help understand how to call this template for preparing appraisal process and the corresponding workflows

I agree with Sven Ringling,
which appraisal your using ? Its 360 degree or MBO (Management by objective settings) SAP has facilitate lot in both appraisals
According to my knowledge, you can design your appraisal template via SAP standard according to your requirement, of course some of your business requirement which you can not adoped through the SAP standard.
For this, SAP has given lots of Badi's for Appraial Template where you can put your own customer logic and validations (business checks).
All your appraisal criteria (elements) can achived creating the criteria group and criteria with the suport of colum and push button configuration.
but i dont know why your going for the fully customer developed WDA? this will be a very huge development to adopt with all functionality like workflow, events, actors, push buttons also the stataus and sub status.
when customer wanted to go for PMS then they have to accept the standard functionality in SAP PMS, if they not satisfied with the interface then have to think about the succssfactor..

Thank you for your responses.
The client has appraisal template which is issued by the ministry and appraisals are done on that template. the challenge is on replicating the same using the standard configurations. Please help on appropriate solutions that I can go for.
Also, I would request your help to know how can I form groups to be able to assign the limited templates to employees in a particular grade.

I can understad your problem but still you did not say what are the challenges that your facing when your replicating appraisal template.
according to my knowledge. you cant do forman appraisal template based of employee group (grade)
While your creating forms to emplayee via PHAP_PREPARE or PHAP_CREATE you need to assige the manager, supervisor and the template mannualy.
I had the same requirement, when i need to create the appraisal form, bellow mentioned should be created automatically
Appraisal template. (object VA), has to be selected based on the employee group
Appraisee--
Appraiser- Appraise need to be selected based on the relationship A002
Appraisal period-- while creating the appraisal document this appraisal period should be take
based on the sy-date
for this, i coppied standard programe (T-code PHAP_CREATE) and did the ABAP workaround to pick those details automaticaly and this programe will create the bulk template for all active employees.

Just checking:
This almost sounds as if you have created a custom WDA on a green field with no connection to SAP standard configuration yet?
Just wanna rule this option out, because, if this is the case, there's no point in asking any SAP performance mgt related questions - then it's a pure WDA exercise.

I don't understand your question.
Do you want to know how to call the WDA Application to create a document depending on the appraisal template?
The workflow is defined in the status flow of the appraisal template, using transaction PHAP_CATALOG. If you mean the workflow that can be started to create a workitem or mail, use the workflow events and create workflows, which react on this events.
