Using rights to delegate administration

Hello,

We have BI 4.1 SP1. I want to set the access right for User and Groups so that only certain people can do the task. I found the topic in admin guide also as "Using rights to delegate administration" but I am not able to locate it in CMC. I know how to define how to define access levels for application but where I can find the access levels mentioned in the table 7-3 on page 148 (create new user, create new group etc).

Can anybody please help? I tried the link -

http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/blog/2013/06/11/delegated-administration-in-sap-bi-40-sp4

Also but this is something diferent.

I may be missing something very basic

Please help me.

Thank you,

SC

Hey Surhendra,

I reckon the delegated admin should be done under AccessLevels "Add or Remove Rights".

There's a "System" tree under the Rights Collection.

At the bottom, you'll find "User" and "User Group".

For "User", there's a "General rights for User" that is not expanded

From there you could define for the delegated admin to "Add objects to the folder" which should allow for the people assigned to the delegated admin to create a user, and continue designing your access level as you see fit.

At the end of the day, BI 4.0 considers everything as "Object" so you do not have a "Create user" right as such and the above should get you going.

Let us know how it goes

Thank you for reply.

Are you very sure that object is nothing but user in this case.

The guide mentions lot of rights in the table and even if I replace user with objects, I cannot match the rights mentioned in the table to the System. I looked at it before posting the message.

Please confirm.
