Restart and Par deploy


do one need to restart the J2EE Engine (on WAS6.20) after the deployment of a .par file?

    Hi Kris,

    No you need not restart the server after deploying the par file. Just create an iView from this par file and view it.

    If you make some changes in the project and want to redploy the par file then you have to just rebuild the project after doing the desired changes and create a new par file. Deploy it again and the changes done in this newly deployed file will be reflected in the output.

    Hi Kris,

    the given answer holds with a certain constraint: Hot deployment of KM components is not supported at the moment. So if you develop something which needs a RFServiceWrapper which adds you PAR classloader to the RF classloader, the result is "undefined" and you have good chances to run in different trouble without a restart (slow-down of EP/KM, KM restarts, OutOfMemoryExceptions, accessing the old implementation)...
