disp+work.exe stopped

Hi Gurus,

After a system crash my ECC server won't start and the dispatcher disp+work.exe is stopped. from the log I can see the error 'CONNECT failed with sql error 1033'. I found out similar issues faced by many others where the solution is to set the 'Autostart' parameter for Oracle to 'False'. But I'm unable to find this parameter. Can somebody please guide me? I'm using Windows server 2003.

I am sure the database is not up completely.

Make sure the database is in open for SAP to work.

If the "startup" statement is not opening the database then you might need to recover the database (my guess)

Hi,

Most of the case this error occurs because archive log full.

Note 655240 - Composite SAP note: ORA-01033

So try to run backup and clear the logs.

Encountered in : 10.2.0.2.0 Database

Cause:

Oracle is unable to perform instance recover but it works when is invoked manually.

Solution:

SQL> startup mount
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 1073741824 bytes
Fixed Size 1264916 bytes
Variable Size 264241900 bytes
Database Buffers 801112064 bytes
Redo Buffers 7122944 bytes
Database mounted.
SQL> recover database
Media recovery complete.
SQL> alter database open;

1. Ensure the Oracle database is start up at the correct host.

select STATUS,HOST_NAME from v$instance;

2. Shutdown and bring up at the correct host

last but not least check your env variable........

Hi sariful,

     Please check if the listener is up  and running using tnsping. Sometimes it might have to be  started manually. Check the log if the listener is not starting up.
