Unaligned comment counts in "My Answers"

Hi all,

in your answer the number of comments is not aligned with the real number of comments

As you can see, i answered yesterday to a question and i got 1 vote and "no comments yet".

Sadly, it's not true, since Derek indeed commented my reply

Yet another reason to scratch the whole comments/answers thing and go back to "replies" as mother nature intended.

200% agree with it. But looks like that the current Community development team is unable to change the q&a engine...

You are right: i'm a troublemaker and bugbuilder!
You found me out, Christopher!

But think this way: how elsewhere could SAP employ so many ui and Q&A experts if i do not create any problem?
It' s all work! :)

Perhaps an easy test to confirm my suspicion that only a comment on the original post would register in the view?

And since you are crossing between the people and answers sites, perhaps there may also be a short synchronization delay.

A day is a short delay? :P

Could this be an answer, converted to comment?

Or, another version - comments getting deleted?

From what I can see, if I delete my own comments, they still count as comments to the answer in my profile (not surprising, this is like setting of a deletion flag). Converting comment to answer did not decrease the comment count in my case (I waited for some time).

In both cases I get incorrect values, but they are like 'more comments counted', which is not what Simone reports.
Could this discrepancy be related to moderation activities - I have no idea.

And can we get rid of the horrible comments/answers distinction already?

This does not look like a technical limitation to me (there is kbentry at least), but it will require major rework of the functionalities, which depend on comments/answers distinction.
