Hi,

Please guide me 1)how to maintain values for "PBDNR" and also "BDZEI" along with transasction code and

2)what possible values can the "PBDNR" and "BDZEI" can have.

Thanks in advance for ur support.

Aditya,

It is not possible to maintian BDZEI numbers directly, SAP automatically assigns them internally.  You can define the number range in OMID

In addition to maintaining Planned Independent requirements directly by Material Number, you can also maintain them by Requirements Plan (PBDNR).  In both cases, you maintain them in MD61/MD62/MD63) by selecting the proper radio button.

Hello DB49,

Thanks a lot for your inputs.

Appreciate if you can elaborate more about 1)how to maintain values for "PBDNR" and 2)what possible values can the "PBDNR".

3) What is the difference between maintaining PIR using "Material" option in MD61 and using "Reqmts Plant" option in MD61.

Your suggestions will be helpful to me. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Aditya,

??? Did you actually log on to a system and look at the transactions I suggested?

1)how to maintain values for "PBDNR" and

Create MD61; change MD62; display MD63, as I stated before.  Use the screenshot below as a guide to create.

2)what possible values can the "PBDNR".

Anything you can fit in the reqmnts field in MD61.  Above, I have used BLAHBLAH; but you can create your own names.

3) What is the difference between maintaining PIR using "Material" option in MD61 and using "Reqmts Plant" option in MD61

It means you have two different ways to maintain your PIRs.  For instance, you might want all the PIRs that are related to a specific Project or Sales Promotion to be grouped together during maintenance, so you could create a Requirements plan to satisfy this need.  Log onto a sandbox system and try MC61 and MC62 screens, it should become clear.  Most of the PIR transactions, such as MD74 or MD75, also allow maintenance according to Requirements Plan.

If you don't see a need to use this functionality, then don't use it.

Best Regards,
