Help on Upgrading to BO4.1 from R2 SP2

Hello Experts, looking forward for some help.

There are threads here that deals with this, but the answers are confusing and quite disintegrated.

My questions are:

We are planning to upgrade to BO 4.1 from our current R2 SP2 system, with the following configuration:

1) OS: Solaris 8 (need to determine if it is a 32bit or a 64bit version)

2) Oracle 32bit client (Backend content database)

3) Single server installation with Enterprise Authentication

4) 100+ deski reports

5) Data level security in universes

Questions:

As per the SAP community 4.1 supports Solaris 10 onwards, do we need to upgrade OS first or can we make use of the existing Solaris 8? Also does the OS needs only a 64bit version?

Should we need a Oracle 64bit driver, along with 32bit (As 32bit is used by crystal report et el)?

Is there any prerequisites for backing up Enterprise authentication, or will this be automated using Upgrade Management Tool (UMT)?

As Deski reports are not supported, can we import them using UMT and convert them in 4.1?

Trust there will be no impacts on the security front while migration.

As we need not have any client versions in our upgraded environment, can we use the UMT from command line interface (Complete upgrade), or do we need a windows client to be installed in a seperate server to perform upgradation?

Is it advisable and recommended to install side by side with different port numbers, or go for a separate server installation?

Looking forward for some tips!!

Thanks
