Digital signing and encryption of files from ABAP

Hi!

Is it possible to sign and encrypt given file in the means of private/public keys directly from ABAP?

    I don't believe this can be done but I would have to question why you are needing to do this. Often encryption and digital signing is required when sending data outside an organisation (business) for security reasons. If that is the case, then ABAP is not the tool to do this. You would require a middleware such as XI, BC or similar to perform encryption. I would think that encryption would be out of scope of ABAP. I think using ABAP to perform encryption (if possible) would simply be wrongly using abap for such purpose.

      Hi, Liam!

      Asking about encryption I bear in mind its applicability for securing external mail exchange from system to outside.

      For example - protecting mail attachments with invoice data as PDF which is sent to invoicing party as one of the output documents.
