proxy error when upload employee photo

Dear sap system administrator

I have an error when i upload employee photo from trx (OAAD)  the error is ( Connect Error: Connect to Host SAPIDES.EMC.COM Port 80 error: NIECONN_REFUSED) and when i do the instructons in the following sap  wiki  http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/NWTech/Connect+to+Host+XXXX+Port+XXXX+error+NIECONN_REFUSED+-+M...

The error changed to  ( Connect Error: NiHostToAddr proxy error: NIEHOST_UNKNOWN ).

and i also do all the steps required to upload the employee photo .

please help me to fix this error .

Hi,

Do you have content server as a repository store.

Can you please explain more what is the service running on port 80 . Is it web service attached to the content server.

Ahmed - Please try to telnet like below and see.

telnet <ip/hostname> <port number>

i closed all the firewall and try with telnet <ip/hostname> <port number> and every time it return that can't connect how can i fix this . i connect with port 80 and i try to connect without any port and it return not connect in all cases

The error changed to  ( Connect Error: NiHostToAddr proxy error: NIEHOST_UNKNOWN ).

The problem is with the host name.

Try with the IP address.

thanks for your replay but  i try it to the ip address and it dos't work the message returned to (Connect Error: Connect to Host 172.21.1.13 Port 80  error: NIECONN_REFUSED)

are you able to telnet to the IP address and port ?

when i try to connect to telnet with 172.21.1.13 it get me connection failed.

You need to telnet to the IP address with the port number

If you are not able to connect then the problem is with the port.
