FPCOPARA not generating Spool for vacant Site

Hi,

We have a requirement to generate correspondences for Vacant Sites. We are creating DFKKCOH entries via an FM without and gpart/vkont as the site is vacant. However while printing the same from FPCOPARA the spool is not generated.

We have two possible alternatives:

1. to print the same using a dummy BP. (This should be the last resort.)

2. Check if standard framework has an exit/BADI to ignore the partner/vkont for vacant correspondence. This looks like the recommended approach.

While investigating Option 2 in debug we found that SAP is looking for an entry in DFKKCOH (in the select query on DFKKCOH) for the same correspondence key and checking for partner/vkont .

Could someone suggest the recommended solution for the same.

Regards,

Anand.

Hi Anand,

When you are generating some correspondence in SAP, it should get addressed to somebody.

This is the place where in BP\Contract Account comes into play, as it derives the address from the BP or CA depending what value is being on the FM ISU_ADDRESS_PROVIDE.

Check with the address type (EADR_TYPE) as A (Desc-Address (without relation to object)) if it works or not.

I would recommend you to have a set of Dummy BP\CA against which you can generate the correspondence for the vacant sites.

Hope it helps

Thanks,

Amlan

Anand:

Maybe you should not be using correspondence function here since as you have found you need BP/CA. Have you looked at just generating letters/spool directly using your own program?  Otherwise, yes, you need a BP/CA and a dummy value will not work very well since you need to also identify the address to which it is sent, and the dummy objects would not have the address details.

I have seen customers create a BP/CA for each of these scenarios where the BP has name 'Unknown' or 'Current resident'.  This allows them to use more of a standard approach to the letters and other functions.

bill.
