material allocation to multiple components

Dears,

in our scenario..one component is issued at the beginning of production line but multiple products can be produced simultaneously using this component in a continuous manufacturing environment.

So, in case of excess goods issue , how to distribute that issue as I don't know which exact product will consume it??

Thanks in advance,

In these scenarios we use market place to move the required quantity for order to another location. This storgae location is not meant for MRP. Move only those materials for which GI needs to be done. Do the GI to order at the end.

To make it clear,

this material behave like a bulk material where it is issued on a production line that ends with several packing machine & each machine pack a different finished product. So, practically we can't know the kilograms consumed by each machine as an actual data during backflushing ( & there is no counter at the packing machines to count the KGs consumed ).

I thought about using bulk materials (to issue to cost center & then distribute according to the produced quantities from the different products ) , but bulk materials only work in MRP by reorder point & these material is a primary material & planned according to the independent requirement need.

Any suggestion

Hi Reem,

Its always better to differentiate the Manufacturing Order and Packaging order.

Example: Your Finished Product shall be the packed product.

Semi - Finished Product 1 -- Manufacturing Order for Manufacturing the product.

Finished Product -- Packaging order for packing the Packing the Product (In this Packing Order Semi-Finished Product 1 shall be used as one of the component).

This way you shall be able to differentiate the different orders.

In order to have a link between the Manufacturing and Packaging orders you shall use the Batch Sequencing (if batch is managed).

For Example: SF1 -- Batch A...For Finishd Product the batch shall be A1.

Reward few points if you find useful.

Hello

You can use a production order with co-products. Check the link below for more details:

Alternatively, you could wait until you know which product will be made to create an order.

Instead of posting the goods issue when you start the process, transfer it to a different storage location. When you know which finished product will be made, then you create the order and post the goods issue.
