HI all
what is the use of journal options Balanced, Reopen in Next Period, Auto reverse? When do we use them? Can anyone explains with business scenario please, to understand better.
What are the Journal tables in SAP BPC 10?
Regards
swetha
Hello Swetha
Balanced just indicates if you can post a journal where the debit/credit are equal or not. If you set balanced to 'yes' each journal has to balance (i.e. D=C)
Reopen in next period is used to repeat journals (without having to re-create them from scratch).
You can reopen one or more journal entries from a previous year, then post them to another set of accounts for the following year.
Auto-reverse is related to 'undo' action of a journal. If you posted a journal, but it turns out that this is incorrect, you can (auto) reverse it. The result is as if you have deleted it, but there are simply 2 journals that cancel each other out (for SOX compliance, it is not recommended to actually delete the journal)
The journal tables in BPC 10 are the UJJ* tables, e.g.
UJJ_JRNL
UJJ_JRNL_ADITMS
etc.
Thanks
Marc
