PAR file : Directly Upload or Use EPA ?

Hi,

I have been told that once the PAR file has been uploaded into the DEV environment, you just have to create an EPA file and put the objects in it and that the content will follow...

This would result in :

- 1 upload of PAR file into DEV env.

- 2 transports of EPA file (DEV -> TST, TST -> PRD)

But, I was under the impression that for standard content, the PAR file was not included into the EPA file. This, if it is not handled this way described above, we would have to proceed to :

- 3 upload of PAR file (DEV, TST, PRD)

(- 2 transports of EPA file (DEV -> TST, TST -> PRD) )

Is this true ?

During a transport to any of the other systems from DEV, if it is an iview then select the iview and check the box that says 'Include dependent objects' which automatically selects the par file the iview is based on.

Is it not u talkin abt?

    Regards.

    Thanks a lot !

By the way, is there a way to rapidly know which objects are to be taken in order to transport the whole content of the PAR file (well, I really do not appreciate PAR file upload...)

I know of the possiblity to check out the Code Link property, but, AFAIK, I would have to go through Multiple Property Replacement to find out the list.

Is there a better way ?

I can't understand when u say the whole content of par file.

Almost everybody wud use the same technique, to transport the par files(Iviews, dependent objects).

Did U experience unusual results with above technique?

      You can share it here!!

      Regards,
