Hi,

Can an ODS be fed from multiple Infosources?

And what are there any points that i should keep in mind while creeating an ODS?

And I realised that only have 16 key fields, does that mean that all the rest go as data fields? what is the major difference for an key field and a data field?

Yes . it is possible .for example:0SD_O01

The objects conisder under key field are become as the pert of key fields in the tables used for the ods. these can not be overwrite. The objects conisder under data field are not become as the pert of key fields in the tables used for the ods. these can be overwrite.

Hi, Thanx for your quick response guys.

Well here is my requirement.

i need to bring in data from SPL(R/3) to BW from both the totals and Line item from 2 different ledgers. So this way i have 4 infosources.

My question is should i bring this into an ODS or Cube.

Please advice and what is the advantage of doing so?

Note: i have an unsolved post Generating extract structure for ledger, can you please look into it.

THankyou.

Hi Vijayanti,

It is possible to have an ODS being loaded from more than one InfoSource. When creating an ODS, the key fields are the ones that will identify each unique record in the ODS. We never have key figures as key fields. All key figures will be present in the ODS as Data Fields.

Hope this helps...
