Movement of Fixed Assets

Hi,

I would like to run a scenario by you to avoid any unintended consequences.

We have fixed assets (Gas Tanks) that we place at customer premises tracked by serial numbers. I intend to track these movements with delivery notes priced at zero.

We eventually plan to implement the fixed assets module but not now - rather than adding each and every tank as Asset Master Data, I intend to group them by year - i.e. a Master Data entry for Tanks Dated 2013, another for Tanks 2014 etc.

Is this a viable (or sensible) method?
