HUPAST Weight scale integration

Dear colleagues,

        can you please let me know the below info for connecting an wieght scale with SAP HUPAST. I have read lots of forum discussion and docuements and got confused on that. My queries are.

1. Do we need an external software license for making this integration work eg procketprogram, taltak etc.

2. Creating RFC and updating the packing station profile is fine, do we need any other software like point 1 above along with point 2.

3. if yes, cant we create our own interface with weight scale, what would be the challenge in this.

4. what is the use of scale_for_R3 and why its needed. Is it mandatory.

5. pocket program claims that you need to buy ERP scale software and without it it will not run, even sap help also recommened to buy licenses from taltalk.

Appreciate if some one can provide some insight on this as i have 5 packing station and all needs to be connected with weight scale.
