OB28 - POSTING VALIDATIONS - WARNINGS

Former Member

I have set up a line item validation in OB28 that produces a Warning message. When a posting is performed that fails the validation, the posting screen is entirely greyed out and all you can do is hit Enter to get past the Warning message. But if you do this you are taken on to the next screen for the entry of the next line item - so the value of the Warning message is completely lost.

Is there any way of getting the cursor to stay on the screen where the failure has occurred, with all fields available to be changed?

Thanks.

Hi,

that's actually how it is intended to work: A warning in SAP is defined as a hint to the user that something might be wrong, but the user can still override the warning and go on to the next item.

In case you want to block the user from going ahead, you need to issue an error message.

Hi,

I suppose that fields from the defined validations in OB28 are not a part from CHAIN ... ENDCHAIN process of SAP screens after input. That's why using this method of validation this no way to have the fields in input mode.
