Clean CMC users inboxes

Hi Gurus,

I need your help.

I need to clean up CMC users inboxes. Each user receives 4 messages in CMC's inboxes everyday. And it makes decrease the unit space of BO's server.

Is there any way to clean up automatically and regularly these inboxes?

There is no provision to limit the number of documents/messages in user's inbox as users themself are the owners of their inbox. I would suggest you to have a look here for SDK code.

Hope this KB article will help you. It looks you can cleanup inboxes using custom SDK.

Hi Dolors,

This can be easily achieved by using Enterprise SDK's.

Checkout the KBA: 1543766 - How to delete all reports in inbox of all users in 3.1

Hello Dolors,

The default setting for report instances is 100, but this value can be adjusted.

You can change the value as desired  as described in theis article :

1287799 - Limit historical instances based on users/groups and
delete older instances

It's valid for BI4 and BOXI3.1.

Hi Fadoua,

but these messages are not instances. I've tried to do it with settings, but it not works with messages in users inboxes.

You can set a date criteria for deletion of Inbox documents of your interest.

What are this messages , are this excel , PDF files of report instances aor nay other objects .

Hi,

these messages are web intelligence reports.

We have BO 4.0 SP 6.

Hi,

so if these Messages are WebI`s than they are Schedules.

Check the Instance Manager for recurring Jobs. Find the Instance by name which maps with the Name of the Report from the Users Inbox and adjust the Schedule.

Hi Seb,

I don't understand what you mean. In Instance Manager I don't find any option to limit the number of instances or messages in user boxes.

Can you explain me what exactly I have to do?

i thought you want to take out this user from the Schedule. Sorry - Missunderstanding.
