Hi,
In PPM 5.0 and onwards is it possible to have a scenario where portfolio item is directly tied to a PS project without using a PPM project. Meaning something like
Portfolio
--Item 1 ------PS Project1
--Item 2------ PS Project2
thanks,
Rahul
Hi Rahul
Do you mean have a PPM Item linked to PS project (and no cProject linked to Item)?
If this is what you mean then yes it is possible. In SPRO configuration you need to define the Item type with setting "Link to Project System" as "Project System" (and not Portfolio and Project Management). You then also need to create PS template and do neccesary mapping between Item type and PS template
Hope this helps?

Hi Chatsworth,
Yes thats what I was looking for- to have an item linked to a PS project without a PPM project. We don't have a requirement to manage resources or timelines so the PPM proj is not required.
We would like to use a PS project to manage the costs and then then transfer the actuals to PPM and use it for its dashboarding and planning capabilities.
thanks,
Rahul
