Can we hide/display only account group, as the client needs only the account group created to be selected at the time of creation of customer. I have google but in vain. Any inputs.
Yes we can but with screen variant. This is something which we cannot do through IMG. Run SHD0 and create variant with XD01 or XD02. If you are not familiar with how to work with SHD0 you can google it and there is a lot of iformation available on google.
Thanks for the links provided,these links give the default values in your customer master or whichever transaction used. my requirement is i have created account group say A B C (copied the STDs). Now whenever i go to create the cust. master these groups should be displayed others should be in disabled mode. I had tried with your suggestion but the only problem is the default group is being activated when i go for XD01 but my case is not that, hope you got my query.
I think you want that in XD01 initial screen in Account Group field there should be just ABC or your defined account groups. No standard account groups should be there. Is it so?? Or you want that user should not be able to create the customer of any other account group other than those you created by yourself?
If first condition is true then there is no other way to do this other than you delete those account groups from IMG which is STRONGLY not recommended.
If second case is true then it can be done easily with authorization object.
I just want to know that what is the problem if they are in drop down list? What the is the logic behind your this requirement?
Yes you got it right, whenever the user tries to create the customer only the defined account groups should be visible. I agree with your suggestion of not deleting the standard.
For authorization what needs to be done inputs pl. The reason behind not having so many groups since they are in industry where they don't need any of these. so my was to make these in invisible or display mode in future if they want to activate they may do so i m correct. some precautionary measure before we go live.
There is no other work around in my mind to control this other than authorization object. Check in this object F_KNA1_GRP and test with your ABAPER. Standard grps will be there and you can't hide them. In normal F4 list we can add values in favorites but in this kind of drop down list we can't.
