Hi,

Is anyone able to shed some light on pros/cons of using Office Edition over OLAP?

Thanks.

Hi,

Here's a start:

web-based application = zero footprint, hosted service

thick-client application = simpler architecture, familiarity with office

Yes, Henry is right - those familiar with Excel will want Analysis Office

For those who do not want to install Analysis Office on each machine, Analysis OLAP is the way to go (web based)

Both tools have interoperability with other clients such as Design Studio

To add to Henry and Tammy's comments, there are a couple of additional pros and cons.

With A-OLAP, you can deploy your workspace as a dashboard with the click of a button.

With Office, you can use VBA macros and VSTO development to build custom BI apps within the MS Office (Excel) environment.

is it office over OLAP or OLAP over office (Excel)? if the latter it's ODBO for 32-bit office.
