Scripts running at same time as Light Optimize -> Problems?

Hi there,

will there be problems when scripts ran an the same time while light optimizes run (BPC7 and 7/5 MS)?

Script is startetd (runtime around 15min)

After 3 minutes light optimize runs (takes a few min)

Script finishes..

If light optimize is changing data (compressing rows) can this have affect on the other script (maybe reading wrong data)?

Is the script setting table locks to prevent other taks to do changes to data thats currently read?

thank you

    Hi Markus,

Yes it might be an issue as indexing is also done during optimization process. So the best option would be to run light optimize once script run is completed.

    Hi Markus,

to avoid issues you have to run during the day only lite optimize without check (index and compression), in this manner you can schedule it and you don't have problems also when packages or are runnnig, compression should be run in the night avoiding other scheduled packages.

Preferible lite opt. every 30-60 minutes, incremental opt. in the night and full optimize with all checks in the week end.

    Regards

    Roberto
