Is a Consolidation System required for webDynpro development?

We are setting up an additional landscape for JAVA/wenDynpro application development. We are used to the traditional 3 system landscape. Is a 4 system landscape a requirement? If so do I need to install an entirley separate instance in order to have a consolidation runtime system. For those of you already in production. Is a consolidation runtime system needed or can you get away with DEV, TEST, Production?

Thanks Steve Lambermont

    Hi Steve,

Consolidation system is not required. However your activities will show up in the consolidation tab. This is because import in the consolidation will move the activity into the active and inactive workspaces of consolidation.

    Hope this helps.

I appreciate your reply. So there are customers running a 3 system landscape for this purpose?

    Thanks
