Process chain optimization

Hi All,

In our project we have so many processchains running, so can anyone help me with the Process chain optimization points.

Thanks & Regards,

Shefali

    Adding to above comments...

    - Avoid creating Secondary index unless they are necessary.

    - Increase the Application servers and the back ground processes.

    - The ACR process can be consolidated from different processes and make it as a single run at the end of the Master data load completion.

    - If there is no reporting involved on the DSO's,then uncheck the SID generation

    - Check the Temp tables spaces.

    - Increase the DTP and DSO activation parallel processes. ( take help of BASIS).

    - Make sure your loads are delta enabled and if at all any full loads try to optimize and check if they can be converted to delta.

    Regards

    KP

    Hi Shefali,

To optimize it, we should keep in mind all the following -

We can identify the requirement, can divide the data in cube based on fiscal period or any other forms.

Start routine code in the update rules can be optimized The look up on table can be done once the desired records are filtered.

Prepare a list ALL PSA/Change Log tables. Add a weekly chain for PSA/Change log deletion.

Regular check on statistics tables. Follow up with Basis compress Infocubes where delta loads are done.

Performance tuning of ABAP Programs will also help. Optimize Select statements as much as possible.

    Hi Garg,

Most of useful points are shared by mates.

    Check this below 3 points

    1. Process chains always need to be scheduled where there is no much burden server.

    2. Always run master data loads and attribute change first and then transaction data loads.

    3. To improve DSO Activation check this t code - RSODSO_SETTINGS

    Thanks

    Hi Shefali ,

First you need to identify the process steps which are long time in your process chains using ST13. Later you need to check and categorize them and plan for optimization of the same. Hence first identify all such processes such as Info package , DTP , Create Index etc in the process chains.

    Thanks

    HI,

    1) Increase the BGDs in SM50 and in parallel processing settings in DSO activations, Aggregate rollups, Dopping/Building indexes

    2) Do not use Compression step in the chain. Schedule a separate chain

    3) RSCUSTV6 and RSCUSTV8 settings..

    Suman

    Hi,

    1. Use more BGD in SM50.

2 create serial PC instead of parallel.

    3. Don't keep 3-4 DTP and DSO in parallel bcz both required 3-3 BGD.

    4. Create simple PC.

    Regards,

    SM

    Hi,

You need to have a through study of the process chains in your system environment and then decide the steps to optimize the chains.

You will need to take different steps for Master Data chains and Transaction Data chains.

There might be a chain taking long time ,identify that , find the solution to reduce the time.

There might be locking happening, you might introduce delay in between to avoid that issue.

The Background processes should be more at a time when various processes run at a same time, like DSO activation, etc. Many other suggestions are already provided but you need to decide and use them as per your system PC's requirements.

    Arpit
