SAP GUI 7.3 will it affect to 3.5 bw objects?

Hi Experts,

We are currently in BW 7.30 and we are planning to upgrade our GUI to 7.30. As part of this we have migrated our all 3.5 queries to 7.30, so can we need to migrate our BW3.5 objecs to 7.30 as well? is 7.30 GUI will affect to BW3.5 obects? please guide..

It won't affect any 3.x object you can work in the admin workbench as you were used to before.

The only thing you don't have anymore is a query designer for 3.x so any query you will open that was 3.x will migrate to 7.

This error I experienced after migration of the contents to 7.3. So, there could be more like this. But I think you can find solutions of these kind of errors..

And once you access a query with the advance GUI, you can not access it further with the older ones.. so you need to install the new GUI in all machines from which you use for query design.

Objects mean data sources/queries?

installation of SAP GUI may won't disturb your objects. but it may give some inconsistencies while accessing. But when planed to upgrade 7.x, all realted obejcts/flows will be migrated to 7.0. so there won't any 3.x. and no issues with gui.

if any there(3.x objects) pls name it. it would be good to suggest based on them.

If your company decides to go with BW 7.3 version. You have to migrate all 3.5 BW objects to BW 7.3. But if your objects are in 7.0 currently, then 7.0 objects can work with BW 7.3 GUI. If you want to enjoy the latest benefits in BW 7.3, you have to migrate them.

I have seen in BW 7.3, there are lot of advanced features which makes our lives easy and better.

Your 3.5 objects will still work with BW 7.3 GUI. But you will not get any support from SAP when your face any serious issues. Your WAD 3.5 does not work with 7.3 GUI. You have to migrate 3.5 templates to 7.0 at least or 7.3.
